Usage Guidelines

System Design and Sizing

• Bed Depth: 24–30 inches (60–75 cm)
• Freeboard: 50% of bed depth for proper backwashing
• Service Flow Rate: 3–6 gpm/ft² (7–15 L/min/m²)
• Backwash Flow Rate: 10–12 gpm/ft² (25–30 L/min/m²)

Backwashing

• Regular backwashing is necessary to remove trapped particulates and maintain performance.

Media Replacement

• Replace the media every 2–3 years, or as required based on system performance and water quality.
