Usage Guidelines

System Design and Sizing

• Bed Depth: 18–30 inches (45–75 cm)
• Freeboard: 50% of bed depth for proper backwashing
• Service Flow Rate: 5–10 gpm/ft² (12–25 L/min/m²)
• Backwash Flow Rate: 12–15 gpm/ft² (30–38 L/min/m²)

Oxidant Requirements

• For water with high levels of iron or manganese, pre-oxidation with chlorine or potassium permanganate is recommended to optimize performance.

Media Replacement

• Replace the media every 3–5 years, depending on water quality and system usage.

Packaging and Storage
