Activated carbon is the most effective method for removing chlorine, chloramines, taste and odour compounds, volatile organic chemicals (VOCs), pesticides, and industrial solvents from water. Its massive internal surface area (1000+ m²/g) provides adsorption sites for organic molecules.
In Ghana, activated carbon is essential for: municipal water dechlorination (GWCL supplies often have residual chlorine > 0.5 mg/L), sachet and bottled water production (consumer taste requirements), industrial process water (pharmaceutical, beverage, electronics), and point-of-use treatment (home and office water filters).
AquaCarb is available in two grades: Eco (cost-effective coal-based carbon for municipal and residential use) and Pro (premium high-activity, low-ash carbon for industrial and packaged water applications).
