Neutralise acidic water and raise pH to target range โ naturally, effectively, and without chemicals. Engineered for the low-pH groundwater profiles of southern Ghana and West Africa.
Acidic water (pH below 6.5) is widespread across Ghana's groundwater sources โ particularly in the Volta Basin, Eastern Region, and coastal aquifers. Low-pH water is corrosive to pipes, fixtures, and distribution infrastructure. It leaches heavy metals from plumbing (lead, copper, zinc) and causes aesthetic problems: metallic taste, blue-green staining, and equipment degradation.
pHSolve is a premium calcite media specifically selected for pH correction in African borehole water. Unlike generic limestone or crushed marble, pHSolve's controlled particle size, high purity, and low attrition rate deliver consistent pH elevation over extended service life.
As acidic water passes through the pHSolve bed, calcium carbonate (CaCOโ) dissolves gradually, releasing calcium ions and bicarbonate into the water. This neutralises free acidity and raises pH to a stable target range of 7.0โ7.5. The process is self-limiting: as pH rises, dissolution slows, preventing over-correction.
Technical Note: pHSolve is a sacrificial media โ it dissolves over time and must be periodically replenished. Service life depends on influent pH, flow rate, and water hardness. Typical replacement interval: 12โ24 months for pH 5.5โ6.0 influent.
